ELSA Latest Data Release and Data User Event, 3rd December 2025

Join the ELSA team for an online event showcasing the latest developments from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA).

The ELSA Latest Data Release and Data User Event will take place on Wednesday, 3^rd December 2025, 11:00 to 15:00 (UK time).

This interactive session will provide updates on Wave 11, practical guidance on using ELSA data, and an overview of the Gateway to Global Aging Data.

Programme

11:00 to 11:45 - Wave 11 update

Speakers from UCL, the Institute for Fiscal Studies, the University of Manchester, and NatCen Social Research will present key findings from Wave 11, outline new survey content, and discuss future data collection plans.

11:45 to 13:15 - Using ELSA data

A practical session offering guidance on accessing and analysing ELSA data, covering data types, weighting, and derived variables. The session will include a live Q&A to address user queries.

14:00 to 15:00 - Gateway to Global Aging Data

Drystan Phillips (University of Southern California) will introduce the harmonised ELSA datasets available through the Gateway platform and demonstrate how they can be used for international comparative research on ageing.
